Singerriedel
A steep vineyard characterised by dry stone walls at the entrance to the town of Spitz, which has been continuously recultivated in the last 30 years and counts among the most impressive vineyards of the Wachau region. Grüner Veltliner is cultivated on the slope toe, and the steep terraces are reserved for Riesling. The narrow terraces and the high planting density are characteristic.

Soil profile
The Singerriedel is composed of paragneiss, one of the most common rock types in the Wachau wine region. Paragneisses are produced by the transformation of sedimentary rocks, which is why their appearance and mineralogical composition vary greatly in the Wachau vineyards.
The profile comes from the lower area of the Singerriedel, where the diverse paragneiss complex is dominated by mica schist enclaves with bands of quartzite. The soils of the steep Singerriedel are shallow, meagre and have a sandy texture. Riesling thrives particularly well here.
