 “The clear, golden-yellow colored 2021 Ried 1000-Eimerberg Spitz Riesling Smaragd opens with a highly aromatic but also spicy and stony nose of ripe, baked stone fruits and delicate tropical fruit, always with the stony spiciness from the primary rock. Juicy, elegant, delicate, finessed and even quite soft on the palate, this is already a hedonistic classic with fruit and texture and a fine, salty finish carried by crystalline acidity. Tasted at Schloss Dürnstein, Wachau, in September 2022.”

On the palate, this Veltliner is dense, elegant and very warm, with full-on maturity but without the animation. Quite substantial but still remaining elegant.
